40k League - 11th - Season 1 - Round 2 - Division 1

I would say there were no stompings in Round 1 but that would be based on 10th scoring - in 11th it feels like a 20 point difference is likely a tabling! Which maybe means there was some stompings...

Results - Round 1

Max V Ross

Prediction: Ross

Winner: Ross

Max having 500 points of Custodes move blocked by 5 Kroot Hounds and his post game immediate request for me to return some of his IA for Infiltrators sums it up quite nicely I think.

I do think the 10th style Guard spam Custodes list could be dangerous for the Krooty Booties but the current iteration of how people are running the Golden boys is pretty great for the chickens.

Luke V Tom

Prediction: Luke

Winner: Luke

Mr Heathguard himself bummed Tom away from the Greater Good so the Tau will have to rally themselves. Fortunately they have a bye week and a list change with the (predicted) Dataslate. Our reporters on the ground asked Tom how smug Luke was on a scale of 1-Luke and he said it was double Luke*. Brutal stuff.

*We asked Tom no questions but merely projected this onto the event. Pretty sure it's accurate though.

Chris V Mike

Prediction: Chris

Results: Chris

Boom shakalaka that is three for three on predictions this week although this was the closest to the upset of the three. Considering it is Necrons and Chris' experience with their inspiring play style I think Mike came out of that alright. Still lose though. Chris did buy a Grey Knights army pretty much immediately after this.

I can't wait for their 11th refresh...

Predictions - Round 2

Ok the big dawg himself is in the ring this week - they call him Mr Changealot, Dr Indecisive, Ross' Bane and Molester. I prefer just Sam though.

Dispositions might change with Dataslate so not including them as factors here.

Ross (Kroot) V Luke (Votann)

Prediction: Ross obviously

Luke will desperately want to get this duck off his back - his record against Ross is poorer than a Nestle owned African village. I am pretty sure they are essentially running identical lists to when Ross last defeated Luke but I vaguely recall Luke taking the "I'm losing anyway so im just gonna kill stuff" approach - might be worth tactical decisions this time.

Ross will win anyway but still.

Chris (Destroyer Crons) V Big Dawg (Likely Slaanesh Daemons)

Prediction: Big Dawg

Let's be honest - Chris is a gnats nadger away from full mental collapse. Printing and painting all the 40k terrain, correcting it, the fumes, the Necron changes which riled him beyond rational belief - he is a man on the ragged edge.

I'm just gonna smash up his Crons before he can smash me up and witness a man cross the rubicon of total mental collapse on a Tuesday night.

Mike (GK) V Max (Custodes)

Prediction: Mike

This is a really close call to be honest and I think it will come down to Disposition. GK are almost always going to score highly but Custodes are annoying durable for GK to deal with and they kill their silver brethren with impunity. I have seen Crowe's brick largely bounce off Custodes before - the Dreadknights will be the main threat piece. If Max can get into them with Bikes it's game over. If the DKs can operate with impunity Mike will smash it.

I initially put Max as the winner here but I think still lacking practice with the bikes and how to use them will be the decider here. I believe Max will tear apart a lot of the GK army so could nip it but if those DKs stick around they might be able to keep up.
