Try Hard Final Week Predictions

The final week is upon us and the league is Chris’ to lose! If Rob can pull off a victory and Gary get’s a win he will snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

If Leo can achieve 46VP in his final game against Luke he will avoid last place, even if he loses. I hear Harry has been bribing Luke to avoid the spoon.I may or may not have already played my game against Harry and if the prediction is scarily accurate that is just a coincidence and not me padding my numbers.Mission: Dawn of War//Supply Drop//Vox Static

2CP for a re-roll and mission redraw and the objectives get more valuable as they disappear – do you castle on the final objective or max value early doors on the others?

Harry vs Sam – Tsons/Custodes

I predict Harry getting tabled by T3 and a 91-36 win for me.I will do an actual write up of this game when the other results are in but it went poorly for Harry. We both agreed to change our lists for our final game as they were both highly regarded.

Gary vs Ben – CK/GK

This is a bit of a weird one – I can see Ben able to nearly max secondaries here but will struggle for primary. That block of paladins I think will crumble when focus fired by Gary’s army and then the Knights can dominate on Primary throughout.

I don’t think Ben has an answer for the Lancer but those GK Librarians could trouble a Wardog every turn, if they roll well. Outside of that I don’t know if the Grey Knights can meet the stat check of the traitors. The Purifiers won’t be a great deal of use from range here but could maybe chip 3/4 wounds off before a charge and then comfortably finish one off.

The issue is double tank shock on the block of Paladins, and a likely 12 wounds, murdering 4 of the guys before they even get swung at.

I believe this might be quite a brutal affair and will go with Gary winning 90-50.

Chris vs Rob – Guard/Admech

If GW deliver on their promises Admech could be a different beast in a month’s time but right now they are a sad little beast. It is a credit to Rob that he is potentially piloting them to 3rd (or a damning indictment on those who lost to him).

Chris’ army has a gun (or 10) that deal with each type of profile Rob is running at him so I honestly don’t see how he can effectively win on Primary but he likely has an advantage in the Secondary game. If you look at Chris’ scores from League 1 to League 2 it is clear the list is less potent at maxing score but still very effective at getting a victory. The only way I see this going Rob’s way is if he effectively denies Chris Primary, without scoring much himself as the unit sat on an objecting, denying, will likely die immediately after.

I am torn on this one – I wanted Chris to be shown his tank list is very regarded but we have all failed in this and my only hope is Rob beating him. However that will mean I drop a place in the league. Then again if you aren’t first you are last so fuck him up Rob!

Rob was also Chris’ only loss last league season so will he prove to be Chris’ bogey player?

Leo vs Luke – CSM/Votann

Leo is playing for a moral victory here – 47VP and he makes sure of a straight improvement on last season. Not only that but the Spoon Prize is a mug with his face on it (last seasons had Harry’s) so if it is reversed that will please me greatly.

Unfortunately I think Luke’s army is basically designed to murder hulls effectively so if the Land Fortresses pop off and Leo rolls his usual amount of shit then it could get messy.

Power through the pain Leo and secure those 47VP!
