Round 8 Predictions

We are at the end of the road gentlemen - four months of dogged league play has led us to this precipitous moment. The top spot is still up for grabs and we don't have a usual suspect (Angus/Ben/Harry) receiving the spoon!

I will hand out prizes either next Tuesday or the following for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Best Sports. Please do your best to be there and applaud the winners.

I am going to start at the bottom and work my way up this week (my usual move with Gary).

Angus V Kyle

Prediction: Angus

Nailed it! Because Kyle is learning the ropes at the new job he couldn't make it so Angus gets another default win.

Ben V Freddie

Prediction: Freddie

The Boss of Bottle Openers V The Cursed Calamity, who can scrape the barrel hardest here? Unfortunately I think the mission benefits the swarm of Blood Claws compared to Ben's elite murder machines.

Freddie and Ben both sit low in the table and low in the HHelo so this could be a battle for the ages, not a particularly tactical one but a battle nonetheless.

Both players are sitting on two wins so will define who finishes above the other.

Dan V Gray

Prediction: Dan

Gray has wildcarded to a truly absurd list so, despite his busy schedule of grass touching, I believe Dan can squeeze out a win here.

Three wins a piece here and I know Gray has taken the league deadly serious so will play his overworked heart out here. Dan has spent over 48 hours in the "Calculation Room" in preparation for this showdown so it really is going to be something...special.

Jack V Mark

Prediction: Jack

I think Mr Jack will want to finish the league on a high - new job, baby on the way, finishing 10th in the league, the usual trifecta. But will he let his Guard down and the blue boys of Macragge can sneak a win?

With absolutely nothing to play for except Best Sports (which Jack will never win due to resting grump face) maybe they will just keep trying to concede to each other?

Craig V Sam

Prediction: Sam

Gonna smash his back door in. Playing at my place so obviously got the home crowd backing me. Nyla has been methodically trained to table leap, steal and immediately chew a Mortarion to pieces. League T&C's state models destroyed by adorable Nyla's are counted as destroyed. Game. Set. Match.

Chris V Sean

Prediction: Neither

For me to improve my league placing I need both of them to lose really so honestly my plan is to psychologically torture and gaslight them both until they both quit the league. Is it ethical? Yes - I checked with Lisa and she approved.

If Chris brings his Krieg list I reckon Sean can't clear off the OC quick enough but with current lists Sean will edge it in durability and output to keep those many NML objectives clear.

Tom V Max

Prediction: Tom

Max is getting the hang of his silly army but if there is something that can tear through that OC and Deathwatch it is three bricks of amped up Chosen/Possessed. However I can see a world where the big bricks have to commit to clear off all of Max's OC and then they are exposed to counter charges.

If this were to happen I am not 100% sure the Deathwatch have the necessary chutzpah to chew through all three bricks but because I embarrassed myself against Tom I really hope Max pulls it off.

Ross V Mike

Prediction: Mike

Ross is a dumb dumb who doesn't understand Doombolt or how to play 40k so what chance does he have?
