This is first Bloodbowl Blog, contributed by Mr Dickie!
Luke (Slann) vs Liam (Chaos Dwarves)
As excited as Luke is to fulfil his Space Jam fantasy with his proxy Lolita Bunny models, I don't think he will know his team well enough to beat the hard hitting Chaos Dwarves and this will be a tough one on CAS.
Luke to head home and cuddle his waifu pillow of Lolita whilst Liam stands triumphant over multiple rabbit bodies.
2-1 Liam
Pete (High Elves) vs Lara (Lizardmen)
The first of three lizardmen teams this season and a new player in Lara.
Pete is an experienced player and this is a tough match up for Lara. If the lizards can fell a few Elves there is an outside chance but I think the bullshittery from the pointy-ears will be too much.
3-1 Pete
Ben (Lizardmen) vs Dickie (Khorne)
Lizardmen team 2 in the hands of an experiences player in Ben means a sorry end for the followers of Khorne here.
Thankfully Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows and will enjoy this match whatever the result, Frenzy and lack of skills will be the undoing.
2-1 Ben
Courtney (Black Orcs) vs Leo (Nurgle)
Another new player in Courtney, I think this will be a bit of a stalemate.
Lots of slow moving chunky boys on either team will become a ruck in the centre and Nurgle infested quagmire.
I'm expecting this to be a draw unless Leo can break away with a Pestigor at some point.
0-0
Max (Chaos Chosen) vs Ross (Halfling)
Our only game of new player vs new player this round.
Max's Crayon Eaters are the favourites here, I can't see how the halflings get anywhere other than coloured in and eaten as replacement Crayons for Max.
Although, a cheeky TTM TD I think is on the cards.
3-1 Max and a pile of tiny bodies
Gary (Necromantic Horror) vs Angus (Norse)
A classic match up and one where Angus will look to avenge his loss to Gary at the end of last season to the Snotlings.
I can't see it happening however. The number of threats Gary possesses I don't think Angus has an answer to unless he works out a formula that fits his playstyle.
I think 2 RR will be limiting again for Angus and no beer boar could be something he regrets a little further into the season.
2-0 Gary
Mark (Dark Elf) vs Phil (Chaos Dwarf)
A new team for Mark this season and Phil with the second Chaos Dwarf team, this time with minotaur.
I am a big fan of a minotaur and provided Phil doesn't get caught out with the Frenzy aspect can see that being one to watch out for this season.
Dark Elves are a tricky bunch to play against, more AV than their compatriots and 2+ dodging is tough to work around. No dodge is a balance to bare in mind although witch elves are one of the best positionals in the game and can make a big difference.
Phils understanding of his team could be the difference here.
1-0 Phil
Neil (Goblins) vs Sam (Lizardmen)
Our second stunty team and third lizardmen team round out the predictions.
On paper, this is Sams game. Lizardmen are a strong team with a lot of potential to wreak havoc, 4 St4 blockers and a St5 Kroxigor will help against the trolls and there will be multiple 3 die block opportunities against the Goblins.
However, Neil is an experienced coach, two trolls and two secret weapons available to him could bring those lizards down and take them out of the game.
I think Sam could be on the end of a rather nasty green welcome to the league.
3-0 Neil
